The Pasty Place began as a pipe dream; owner Chloe Armistead moved
to Warwick from Cornwall in 2000 to pursue a career as a teacher.
Unable to find a tasty, filling and good value for money lunch
time snack the good old Cornish Pasty was yearned for on many occasion!
And so the dream began.. Pasties (not just any pasties but real
PROPER CORNISH pasties) in Warwick.
Having been brought up in a food conscious family chloe also noted
the absence of healthy lunch time snacks - there were plenty of bakeries
and heavily processed products available with long shelf life's but
no freshly produced salads or baguettes which were filled with just
what you wanted;
and so the dream developed.. pasties and a freshly made salad and
sandwich bar, baguettes baked daily on the premises; good old home
made food (just like you get at home - and better!)
So it happened THE PASTY PLACE was born, the premises on Swan Street
in warwick was found and 2 months of designing and renovation began.
The doors finally opened in May 2002.
Since then team has expanded - we welcomed on board a new partner,
Portuguese born Mauricio Morgado, a chef who previously worked at
the award winning gastro pub The Rose And Crown. He now runs
the shop and is in charge of the menu and its developments - feel
free to pop in and chat and make any requests - he's always happy
to help!
